The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Grimaud with a lazy takedown attempt
and Monroe counters with a takedown into side control.
Grimaud is trying to get back to half guard.
Monroe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Grimaud is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Monroe thows a huge punch but Grimaud dodges it nicely.
Monroe wants to work for an arm triangle but Grimaud is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Monroe looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Monroe slips a nice elbow through Grimaud's hands, connecting with Grimaud's forehead.
Monroe seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Grimaud seems to have recovered his senses.
Grimaud tries to escape but Monroe is in control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Monroe advances to mount.
Monroe lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Grimaud in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Archer Monroe dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Grimaud fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ryan Grimaud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grimaud gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Monroe counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Grimaud's guard now.
Monroe is pushing down on Grimaud's leg trying to pass to half guard. Grimaud is fighting to maintain full guard but Monroe has managed to sneak the leg through.
Grimaud is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Monroe pulls his head out easily.

Monroe softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Grimaud is out cold! Monroe jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
