The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Dimaya shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dimaya gets slowly back to his feet.

Hakeem Jones's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Dimaya shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.

Dimaya throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Dimaya finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jones is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Dimaya is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Dimaya is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jones to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jones shrugs it off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
