The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sime jabs De Vries to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Sime stuffs the takedown.
Sime lands with a nice combination. De Vries backs away looking to recover.

It looks like CJ De Vries has been cut.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sime, as that shot connected.

Sime clinches up with De Vries and pushes him back against the cage.
De Vries can't find room to land a body shot as Sime controls the action.

Sime breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
De Vries gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sime counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Sime tries to free his leg and advance position but De Vries is retaining full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with De Vries in particular looking to stall.
