Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andrus Ansip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dion Van Helvoit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrus Ansip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dion Van Helvoit!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Helvoit lands a head kick. Ansip smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Ansip circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ansip fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Van Helvoit to the ground. Ansip is now in Van Helvoit's guard.

Ansip postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Van Helvoit is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ansip has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Ansip goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Van Helvoit has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Ansip but great work by Van Helvoit.

Ansip shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ansip manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Ansip throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Ansip gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Van Helvoit can do anything to dispel that myth.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but Dion Van Helvoit will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Ansip has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Van Helvoit uses from the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ansip throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Van Helvoit was covering up waiting for the punch and Ansip finishes the takedown easily into guard.
