Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jay East! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Urpo Kepponen! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! East has managed to clinch.
East can't get the takedown.
East breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kepponen circles away from the clinch attempt and Kepponen counters with a lovely shot to the body. East shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kepponen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kepponen actively working from the bottom here. Kepponen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. East seems to be working for a kimura but Kepponen defends the submission attempt. Kepponen wants to control but East is keeping busy.
East throwing shots but Kepponen is blocking nicely. East perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. East is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kepponen! Kepponen taking shots to the head. Kepponen looks winded! East controlling the position easily from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. East has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kepponen's face.

Kepponen taking shots to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kepponen wants to try and get back to his feet. East controlling his opponent. East connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kepponen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with East. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. East is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. East has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Kepponen is in real trouble here. East gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Kepponen is tapping out! East wins by rear naked choke!
