Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Almaz Method (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Almaz Method has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Almaz Method! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Smith! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Method swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Method fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Method persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Method tries to pass to full mount but Smith defends it. Smith regains full guard. Nicely done. Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Method is one step ahead there. Smith is trying to keep Method in close.
Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Method can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet. Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Method doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Method manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Method! Smith stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Smith fails with a takedown attempt. Smith drives through with a takedown into Method's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Method is retaining full guard. Smith content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Method preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nick Smith wasn't active enough on the ground. Method displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith. Almaz Method has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Smith. Smith dives in and grabs Method's left leg, looking for a takedown. Method pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith misses with a takedown attempt and Method counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Method. Smith looking to control.
Smith has his feet on Method's thighs here. He's pushed Method off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Method screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
