Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johan Moneymaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papa Pop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Moneymaker might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Coming Home. Pop has chosen The Final Countdown as his entrance music. Papa Pop struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Johan Moneymaker has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moneymaker as he avoids it easily.
Pop shoots in for a takedown but Moneymaker shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Pop shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Moneymaker pinned against the cage. Moneymaker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johan Moneymaker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Papa Pop.
Pop needs to keep his hands up - Moneymaker had a free shot at his head there.

It looks like Papa Pop has been cut.
Pop takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Pop throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Moneymaker was covering up waiting for the punch and Pop finishes the takedown easily into guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Moneymaker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pop's guard.
Pop controls Moneymaker momentarily but Moneymaker frees himself.

Pop has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Moneymaker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Moneymaker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Pop looking for a guillotine here but Moneymaker defends easily.

Pop throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Moneymaker escapes and throws Pop's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Moneymaker wants to control but Pop is keeping him busy.

Moneymaker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Papa Pop's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Papa Pop's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
