The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tabasco on the side of the head.
It looks like Joe Tabasco has been cut.
Tabasco looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tabasco shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tabasco looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richards keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Richards knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tabasco on the ground.
Tabasco throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tabasco looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Richards with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Tabasco thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tabasco is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Richards!
Tabasco landing strikes from the mount and Richards is in trouble!

That's one minute gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tabasco cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Richards takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Tabasco's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Tabasco!
After winning the bout, Joe Tabasco thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
