Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Di Mario (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Ruvinsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mario comes to the cage accompanied by Lose Yourself. Di Mario has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Di Mario!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Ruvinsky!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mario throws a sloppy head kick and Ruvinsky moves out of range easily.
Mario really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ruvinsky tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mario just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ruvinsky looking to throw knees to the head but Mario is blocking nicely.

Di Mario has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oleg Ruvinsky.
Mario lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Ruvinsky jumps guard but Mario stands there with Ruvinsky around his waist. Ruvinsky gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mario breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruvinsky throws a right hand that Mario ducks under and follows up with a left that Mario also avoids with ease.

and Mario counters with a shoot takedown. Ruvinsky fights it but they end up in guard.

Ruvinsky wants to sweep here but Mario controlling him for the moment.

Ruvinsky bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mario's guard.

Mario will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ruvinsky drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mario dives on top into guard.

Ruvinsky is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Mario knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ruvinsky on the ground.

Ruvinsky has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mario off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ruvinsky shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mario as he avoids it easily.

Ruvinsky is stalling here. Mario is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ruvinsky seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Mario has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mario in particular looking to stall.
Mario seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ruvinsky does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
