5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carlos Baltozar! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baltozar cracks Kopitar with an open hand slap.

Baltozar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Baltozar ducked under it nicely. Kopitar lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kopitar fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Baltozar checks it well. Baltozar might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Kopitar avoids the body shot from Baltozar.

Kopitar connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kopitar looks to land a left hand but Baltozar moved out of range nicely. A cross from Kopitar lands. Baltozar bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Horrible takedown by Baltozar or perhaps it was just good defense by Kopitar which made him look bad. Kopitar avoids a lazy jab quite easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Baltozar takes one to the side of the head.
Kopitar lands a nice hook to Baltozar's body. Baltozar takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
