Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Russo was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.

Russo lands a nice hook to Jones's body. Jones takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Russo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Jones shoots in and bounces Russo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Russo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jones stacks Russo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jones!

Russo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Russo shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
Jones scores with a hook to the body. Russo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Russo looks winded!
Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Russo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Russo avoids the head kick by Jones.
Russo gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Jones gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Russell Jones!
