Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bret Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Marcy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hill comes to the cage accompanied by Wanted Dead Or Alive by Bon Jovi. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bret Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lance Marcy!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcy swats away the attempt to clinch by Hill.
Hill ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marcy moves away.
Hill is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Marcy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hill as he jumps to the side.
Marcy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hill.
Hill swings widly with a right hand
and Marcy counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Marcy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hill sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marcy somewhat.
Marcy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hill.
Hill looks to score with a jab to the body but Marcy is just out of range.

Marcy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hill wants to improve his position but Marcy is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill wants to control but Marcy is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hill won't allow Marcy to pass to mount.
Hill punching from the bottom.
Hill wants to improve his position but Marcy is controlling well.

Hill looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Marcy throwing shots but Hill is blocking nicely.
Marcy tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Hill.
Marcy tries to pass to full mount but Hill defends it.

Marcy gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Marcy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hill stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hill gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Marcy moves into the clinch.
Hill is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Marcy pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Marcy creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hill wants to take the fight to the mat but Marcy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Marcy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hill misses with a shot to the body
and Marcy counters with a right hand to the body.
Hill with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Hill moves in looking to clinch but Marcy pushes him off.

Marcy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Marcy working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Hill is looking for a sweep. Marcy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Marcy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Marcy decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hill thows a body shot but no joy.
Hill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marcy manages to avoid it.
Nice sprawl there from Hill as Marcy shoots in.
Bret Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lance Marcy.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Hill rushes Marcy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Marcy tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hill trying to stall but Marcy improves his position.
Hill misses with a short punch on the inside.
Hill swings wildly with an uppercut but Marcy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hill working hard to break the clinch.
Marcy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hill gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Marcy is working for takedown but Hill is calmly controlling the position for now.

Marcy gets control of Hill's arms and successfully pulls guard. Marcy will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hill drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hill jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Marcy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hill's guard.

Hill is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marcy is aware though and is defending well.

Hill is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hill is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hill is trying to control the position but Marcy postures up.
Marcy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Marcy slips nicely into half guard.

Hill is defending against the submission attempts here by Marcy.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hill is trying to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lance Marcy dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Marcy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hill backs up against the cage.
Hill throws a right hand that misses

and Marcy counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Hill swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Hill has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Marcy regains guard immediately.
Hill might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hill postures up.
Hill is looking to work some ground and pound but Marcy has wrist control.
Hill postures up in Marcy's guard and throws a big left but Marcy blocks it.

Marcy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hill doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hill manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hill has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Marcy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hill prevents Marcy from getting back to his feet.
Hill is in close to Marcy's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Marcy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Marcy wants to take a breather but Hill is having none of it.

Marcy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Marcy is trying to control. Hill wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Lance Marcy has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hill actively working from the bottom here.
Hill tries to roll over but Marcy keeps him under control.
Marcy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hill does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hill wants to improve his position but Marcy is controlling well.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hill is in trouble now - Marcy has advanced to mount!

Hill regains half guard.
Marcy is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Hill actively working from the bottom here.

Marcy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hill is just riding it out for now. Marcy eventually gives up the hold.

Marcy is looking for a kimura here.

Marcy winds up and cracks Hill with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hill is refusing to be controlled, as Marcy sits in half guard.

Marcy is working for a kimura but Hill is defending it quite comfortably.

Marcy not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Marcy wants to take a breather but Hill is having none of it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marcy is looking to take a break and control but Hill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lance Marcy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Hill ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marcy moves away.
Hill tries to close the distance and clinch but Marcy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hill shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marcy but Marcy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hill shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marcy pinned against the cage. Marcy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Marcy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hill sprawls well. Hill wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marcy gets slowly back to his feet.

Marcy drives through with a takedown into Hill's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Marcy's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Marcy lands a couple of digs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marcy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hill's guard.
Marcy is looking to advance position but Hill won't allow it.
Hill trying to control here.
Hill is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hill looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Marcy pushes past his half guard into mount!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hill tries to reverse the position but Marcy maintains control.
Marcy landing strikes from the mount and Hill is in trouble!

Marcy working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Hill working to try and regain half guard.
Marcy fails to advance to Hill's back.
Bret Hill has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hill takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Marcy's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lance Marcy!
Lance Marcy seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
