Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Casey Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Poirier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poirier has chosen ACDC - TNT as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter Poirier!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poirier chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.
Jones thumps Poirier with a low kick.
Left hook, right uppercut from Poirier.
Jones defending well as Poirier loads up on a big left hand.
Poirier rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jones showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Poirier.
Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Poirier.
It looks like Peter Poirier has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Jones! Poirier is out on his feet! Jones rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Poirier is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Poirier is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Casey Jones!

Casey Jones took some time post fight to say the following; 'Tonight I was fighting on pure adrenalin, last night I blew my knee out nailing 3 crazy Japanese Olympic gymnasts at my hotel, But I still won, hopefully you guys thought it was an exciting performance'.
