Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leidiano Jos Brito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Andre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Andre! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brito closes the distance and pushes Andre back into the cage. Brito working Andre over with knees to the body. Brito prevents Andre from breaking the clinch. Brito's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Andre shoots in and bounces Brito off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Brito avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brito looking for a sweep. Not yet Brito, not yet. Andre decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Brito forces Andre back against the cage and clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Andre pulls guard effortlessly. Brito is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Andre is trying to keep Brito in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brito knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Andre on the ground. Brito slips nicely into half guard. Andre looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brito is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Brito seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Brito is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Brito not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Andre is trying to stand up here but Brito is controlling him well. Brito content to control rather than advance. Andre is defending against the submission attempts here by Brito.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Brito is looking to stall here but Andre recovers full guard. Brito working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Andre's head. Brito decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Brito fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Andre will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Brito displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Andre. Carlos Andre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Andre fails with a takedown attempt. That's four minutes gone in the round. Brito shoots for a takedown but Andre saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Brito fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Andre avoids it really well and circles away. No luck for Andre with that takedown attempt. Andre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brito but Brito pushes him off and we're back to square one. Andre with a poor takedown and Brito counters with a nice low kick that buckles Andre's knee momentarily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Andre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brito tries to avoid it but Andre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brito to the ground. Brito escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Andre tries to sprawl but Brito drives through with a takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Andre has a hand on Brito's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Brito takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Brito stands up from mount. Strange move. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brito misses with a takedown attempt - Andre sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Andre closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brito circles away. Andre will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Brito content to stall in guard here. Brito stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Andre swivels though and keeps the full guard. Andre keeping moving, preventing Brito from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Leidiano Jos Brito wasn't doing enough on the ground. Brito fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brito displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Andre. Leidiano Jos Brito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Andre. Brito closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brito lands in his opponent's guard. Andre looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Horrible takedown by Brito or perhaps it was just good defense by Andre which made him look bad. Andre gets caught flat footed, as Brito shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Brito lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brito engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Andre is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Brito looking to pass the guard. Andre wants to stand and escape but Brito is having none of it. Brito engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brito with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brito shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Andre as he jumps to the side. Andre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brito tries to avoid it but Andre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brito to the ground. Brito escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Andre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Brito circles away quickly and effectively. Brito gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Andre counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Andre swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Brito holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Andre takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Brito pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Andre fails with the takedown. Leidiano Jos Brito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Andre. Brito closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nice. Andre is being controlled here. Brito tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Andre takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The referee asks Brito politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Brito prefers to stall for the moment though. Brito has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Andre regains half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brito takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Brito seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Brito is taking a breather. Andre says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Brito seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Andre does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Brito looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Brito prevents Andre from standing back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Leidiano Jos Brito. Andre shoots in for a takedown but Brito shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Left hook, right uppercut from Brito.
It looks like Carlos Andre has been cut. Brito shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Brito takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brito frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Andre really wants to buck Brito off and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Andre is bucking up trying to escape but Brito cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brito working for a submission but Andre is keeping him at bay. Brito controlling from mount. Brito wants to finish this one by submission but Andre is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Brito. Brito wants to control the pace but Andre is squirming around nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Leidiano Jos Brito showed his dominance in that final round. Well Brito has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
