Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eric Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers tries a head kick but it misses.
Rogers throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Camber Cartwright has been cut.
Cartwright tries to clinch up

and Rogers counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cartwright's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Rogers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cartwright working for a triangle but Rogers defends it easily.

Rogers gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Cartwright tries to clinch up

and Rogers counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Rogers tries to stand but Cartwright is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cartwright working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rogers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rogers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cartwright, up you get!
Rogers leaves Cartwright with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Cartwright uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rogers.
Sloppy strikes from Rogers. Those never looked like landing.

Rogers swats away the attempt to clinch by Cartwright.
Rogers throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rogers throws out a powerful jab.
Rogers throws a head kick that half lands.
Eric Rogers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cartwright closes the distance but Rogers moves to the side
and Rogers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cartwright tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rogers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cartwright shoots in for a double leg but Rogers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Camber Cartwright. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cartwright shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rogers as he jumps to the side.

and Cartwright counters with a flying knee. Nice.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cartwright wants to clinch up but Rogers keeps it at a distance.
Rogers connects with a right hand. Cartwright shakes it off.
Rogers misses with a two punch combination.

Camber Cartwright's cut is getting worse.
Cartwright darts in trying to clinch

and Rogers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cartwright's guard.

Rogers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cartwright, up you get!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rogers throws a sloppy head kick and Cartwright moves out of range easily.

and Cartwright counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Rogers looks winded!
Cartwright misses with a takedown attempt
and Rogers counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Rogers dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Cartwright tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Rogers counters with a straight right hand.
Rogers bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Rogers connects with a combination that backs up Cartwright into the cage. Rogers lands a flurry of punches that gets past Cartwright's guard. Cartwright is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Rogers bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Rogers!
A relieved looking Eric Rogers thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
