Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Noah Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thom Merrilin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Noah Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thom Merrilin! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Merrilin looks to score with a jab to the body but Green is just out of range. Green moves in looking to clinch but Merrilin pushes him off. Merrilin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Merrilin is looking to sweep but instead, Green has passed into half guard.
Green slows the pace down in half guard. Merrilin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Green wants to lay and pray for a moment but Merrilin keeps working. Merrilin looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Merrilin gets full guard. Green is stalling in the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Noah Green. Green closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Merrilin did well to prevent Green getting side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green is looking to advance position but Merrilin won't allow it. Merrilin tries to roll over but Green keeps him under control. Green wants to lay and pray for a moment but Merrilin keeps working. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Green seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Noah Green. Green fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Merrilin to the ground. Green is now in Merrilin's guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Green controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Merrilin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Green defends well. Merrilin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Merrilin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Green escapes and throws Merrilin's legs to the side, diving into side control! Merrilin is trying to work for a sweep but Green has mounted him! Green looking to control but Merrilin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Green tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Merrilin is desperately trying to improve his position but Green has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Merrilin is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Green wants to stand up but Merrilin is controlling him.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Merrilin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Green moves away. Some wild striking there from Green.
Green tries to sprawl but Merrilin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Green is refusing to be controlled, as Merrilin sits in half guard. Green is concentrating on defense, preventing Merrilin from advancing position. Merrilin trying to mount his opponent but Green defends it. Noah Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Green is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Green is not content to let Merrilin control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Green is trying to get back to full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Merrilin wants to work for an arm triangle but Green is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Merrilin wants to control but Green is keeping him busy. Merrilin is working for a kimura but Green is defending it quite comfortably.
Green is trying to maintain the position but Merrilin is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thom Merrilin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Merrilin finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Green closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Green lands in his opponent's guard. Merrilin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Green! Green prevents Merrilin from taking his back. Green regains half guard. Green flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Merrilin wants to control from the top but Green keeps moving. Merrilin tries to free his leg and advance position but Green is retaining full guard. Green wants to get back to his feet but Merrilin passes into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Merrilin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Green defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Merrilin in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Green tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Merrilin!
