Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson comes into the arena with Hyper - We Control blaring out of the sound system. Henderson has chosen Dr. Dre - Kush ft. Snoop Dogg, Akon as his entrance music. Dan Henderson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Roy Nelson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roy Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Henderson! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henderson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Roy Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Henderson dodges the punch combination from Nelson.
Nelson moves in looking to clinch but Henderson pushes him off. Nelson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nelson shoots for a double leg takedown but Henderson sprawls well. He's pushed Nelson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Henderson lands a nice looking body kick. Nelson is breathing heavily. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Henderson. Nelson is looking to clinch but Henderson is avoiding it.

Henderson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Nelson can't fight it off and eventually Henderson manages to take the fight to the floor. Nelson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Henderson wants to pass the guard but Nelson is keeping the position. Nelson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nelson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Henderson. Henderson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Henderson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henderson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Henderson wants to pass the guard but Nelson is keeping the position. Henderson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dan Henderson. Henderson forces Nelson back against the cage and clinches. Nelson takes a knee to the side of the body. Henderson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Henderson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nelson tries to land a front kick but Henderson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Henderson digs a good hook to Nelson's body.
Henderson is looking to slow Nelson down with leg kicks. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nelson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Henderson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nelson doesn't seem bothered though. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Henderson, right into the meat.
Henderson throws a sloppy head kick and Nelson moves out of range easily. Nelson dodges the punch combination from Henderson.
Nice uppercut there from Henderson. Nelson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Henderson gets to his feet. Nelson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Henderson connects with an inside leg kick. Nelson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Henderson. That one must have hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Nelson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Henderson landing with the ground and pound. Henderson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Henderson gets to his feet. Nelson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Henderson darts in and clinches Nelson up against the cage. Henderson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A lazy body kick attempt from Henderson. Henderson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Nelson on the side of the head. Henderson blocks a leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Henderson looks to land a combination. Nelson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. A punch combination from Henderson misses. Henderson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Henderson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Nelson if he has to take too many more of those.
Henderson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Henderson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nelson is out of range and Henderson settles back down. Sloppy strikes from Nelson. Those never looked like landing. A cross from Henderson lands. Henderson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Henderson dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Henderson gets the takedown into side control. Henderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nelson keeps working. Henderson scoring with punches from side control. Henderson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nelson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Henderson decides to stand back up. Henderson throws a right and a left that Nelson avoids nicely. Henderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nelson avoids it really well and circles away. Nelson throws a right hand that Henderson ducks under and follows up with a left that Henderson also avoids with ease. Henderson connects with a jab. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Henderson darts in and clinches Nelson up against the cage. Henderson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Henderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Henderson wants to break the clinch but can't.

Henderson lands a leg kick that knocks Nelson off balance momentarily. Nelson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Henderson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nelson's head. That's two minutes gone in the round. Henderson moves to clinch but Nelson breaks away and Nelson counters with a low kick, right behind Henderson 's knee. A nice combination there by Henderson.

Nice move by Henderson! Henderson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Nelson has control of Henderson's left arm, preventing Henderson from doing any damage. Nelson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Nelson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nelson is trying to keep Henderson in close.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Roy Nelson just wasn't active enough. Henderson shoots in and bounces Nelson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Nelson looking to control.

Dan Henderson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Henderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nelson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Henderson rushes Nelson and presses him up against the cage. Henderson lands an elbow just above Nelson 's eye. Henderson has Nelson pressed against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Henderson finds it's way round the side to connect with Nelson's head. Nelson takes a kick to the side of the head. Nelson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Nelson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Henderson wants to clinch. Henderson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Nelson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Henderson is in Nelson's guard. Nelson looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Henderson wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving. Nelson looking to control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Henderson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Henderson stalling. Henderson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nelson! Dan Henderson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A nice elbow there by Henderson. Nelson tries to hold on but Henderson postures up. Henderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Roy Nelson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nelson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Henderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Henderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
