The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nikolaevich connects with a leg kick. Silva looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Silva tries to clinch but Nikolaevich moves away
and Nikolaevich counters with a head kick. That will keep Silva thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Nice takedown defense from Nikolaevich. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Nikolaevich shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but Nikolaevich ducks down to avoid it.
Silva shoots and misses
and Nikolaevich counters with a head kick. That will keep Silva thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nikolaevich is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Nikolaevich circles away and we're back to standing.

A nice leg kick lands there from Nikolaevich.
Nikolaevich fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Silva has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Silva has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Nikolaevich.
Silva looks winded!
Silva wants to clinch but Nikolaevich slips to the side
and Nikolaevich counters with a thumping low kick.
Anderson Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nikolaevich throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Nikolaevich counters with a head kick. That will keep Silva thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Silva seems to have recovered his senses.
Nikolaevich thumps Silva with a low kick.
Nikolaevich misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Nikolaevich.
Silva takes a kick to the side of the head.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Nikolaevich counters with a slapping leg kick.
Nikolaevich pushes Silva away with a front kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nikolaevich throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nikolaevich lands with a thumping leg kick.
The fighters circle, before Nikolaevich throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Silva's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Nikolaevich lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

After winning the bout, Vasilko Nikolaevich thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
