4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nick Robinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nebolath Nabochadnezzar! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robinson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Nabochadnezzar is trying to control the position but Robinson postures up. Robinson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Robinson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Nick Robinson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nabochadnezzar gets caught flat footed, as Robinson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Robinson controlling from the top position. Nabochadnezzar is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nabochadnezzar looks winded! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Robinson lands a couple of digs. Robinson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nabochadnezzar looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Robinson passes into side control.
Robinson is staying tight to Nabochadnezzar's torso, preventing him from escaping. Robinson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Nabochadnezzar is looking to reverse the position. Robinson working away. Nabochadnezzar looks to move to half guard but instead Robinson has passed into mount! Damn! Robinson controlling his opponent. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Robinson lands a nice shot to the head. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Robinson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robinson looking to control and managing it successfully. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Robinson working away from the top, dropping strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Robinson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Robinson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Nabochadnezzar?
Robinson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Robinson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nabochadnezzar can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Nabochadnezzar is rocked!
It looks like Nebolath Nabochadnezzar has been cut. Robinson controlling the pace for now. Nabochadnezzar is still in real trouble! Can Robinson finish him? Robinson postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Nabochadnezzar bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Robinson and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Robinson! Nick Robinson decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
