Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Curry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claus Lundekvam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josh Curry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Claus Lundekvam! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lundekvam wants to clinch. Lundekvam throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Curry. Lundekvam wants to clinch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lundekvam is defended easily by Curry. Claus Lundekvam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Curry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lundekvam sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Curry closes the distance and clinches up with Lundekvam, looking for a takedown. Curry pushes Lundekvam against the cage but Lundekvam circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lundekvam pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Curry back to the cage. Lundekvam follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Curry with a lazy takedown attempt and Lundekvam counters with a single leg into guard. Curry didn't expect that. Lundekvam wants to control from the top but Curry keeps moving. Lundekvam throwing strikes but missing. Lundekvam has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Claus Lundekvam wasn't active enough on the ground. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Curry. Lundekvam darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Lundekvam wants to pass the guard but Curry is defending well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lundekvam wants to control but Curry is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lundekvam tries to score a power double leg takedown but Curry sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lundekvam somewhat. Curry fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lundekvam throws a right and a left that both miss. Curry shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lundekvam napping and manages to drive through into side control! Lundekvam prevents Curry from moving into mount. Lundekvam is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Lundekvam is trying to escape the position but Curry is controlling the position. Curry closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Curry lands in his opponent's guard. Lundekvam trying to strike off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lundekvam in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Lundekvam is trying to get an arm triangle but Curry is defending well. Lundekvam working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Josh Curry. I think Curry has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
