These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Degratov fails to land with a series of punches.
Degratov misses with a hook
and Rivers counters with a nice low kick that buckles Degratov's knee momentarily.
A punch combination from Rivers misses.
Degratov throws a right and a left that Rivers avoids nicely.
A big right from Degratov misses.
Rivers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rivers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Degratov has escaped the position, nice work there.
Degratov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rivers asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Rivers is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Degratov looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rivers gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Degratov is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rivers lets go of the hold and Degratov can pop his arm back in it's socket.
