Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tzvetvan Todorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Shank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tzvetvan Todorov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ryan Shank's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tzvetvan Todorov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Shank!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shank throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Todorov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shank is in Todorov's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Shank wants to control from the top but Todorov keeps moving.
Todorov is trying to keep Shank in close.
Shank trying to control the position from guard on top but Todorov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Todorov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ryan Shank wasn't active enough on the ground.

Shank shoots in and gets a takedown into Todorov's guard.
Todorov could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Todorov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Shank trying to control the position from guard on top but Todorov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Todorov controls Shank momentarily but Shank frees himself.

Todorov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shank on the ground.
Shank passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Todorov!
Shank lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Shank can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Todorov is looking to escape.
Shank might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Todorov kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Todorov avoids a series of strikes thrown by Shank.

Shank is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Todorov to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Todorov shrugs it off.

Todorov defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Shank.
Todorov might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Shank is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Todorov has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Shank throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Todorov is working to get back to half guard.
Shank looking to control but Todorov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Shank is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Shank looking to break Todorov's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Todorov remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shank will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shank wants to clinch up but Todorov keeps it at a distance.

Shank throws a sloppy head kick and Todorov moves out of range easily.

Shank feints and as Todorov raises his hands in defense, Shank changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Shank missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Todorov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shank is one step ahead there.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shank accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Shank has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Shank decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Todorov, up you get!
Todorov shoots in looking for a takedown but Shank manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Todorov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Shank feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shank is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Shank is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Shank tries to stand but can't do so whilst Todorov controls his leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ryan Shank showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Todorov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Shank tries to close the distance and clinch but Todorov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shank shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Todorov is trying to defend but Shank finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan Shank was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Shank waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Todorov.
Shank throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Todorov moves out of range of the body kick from Shank.
Todorov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shank sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Todorov somewhat.

Shank gets underhooks to prevent Todorov's takedown attempt.
Todorov wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tzvetvan Todorov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Shank gets control of Todorov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shank will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shank is on top in guard.
Tzvetvan Todorov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Todorov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Todorov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Todorov is looking to stand up but Shank isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tzvetvan Todorov.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shank is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Todorov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shank.

Ryan Shank comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shank has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
