Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Colton Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duane Dube (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Colton Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Duane Dube!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dube throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dube throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dube off to one side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dube.
Dube lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Dube lands with a shot to the body.
Smith throws the kick towards the body but Dube avoids it.
Dube shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Dube's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Colton Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Duane Dube.
Dube shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
Dube lands with a nice combination. Smith backs away looking to recover.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Smith's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that Colton Smith will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dube flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Dube is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Dube tries to lock up and control but Smith gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Smith is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dube can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Dube is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Dube is breathing heavily.

Dube bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Dube escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Smith prevents Dube from getting back to his feet.
Dube has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.
Smith wants to stand but Dube has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Colton Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
