Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Khrepchenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dustin Kilgore! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khrepchenko leaves Kilgore with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Khrepchenko moves into the clinch. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Khrepchenko obliges. Khrepchenko creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Kilgore turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Khrepchenko wants to get back to his feet but Kilgore drags him back down. Kilgore tries for a kimura but Khrepchenko is defending well. Kilgore looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kilgore sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Khrepchenko is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Khrepchenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kilgore on the ground. Khrepchenko is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kilgore asserts his dominance and retains side control. Kilgore working the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kilgore scoring with punches and elbows. Khrepchenko is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Kilgore is working to tighten is grip on Khrepchenko's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Khrepchenko has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kilgore is really squeezing tight and eventually Khrepchenko passes out! Kilgore breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
