Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danny Trejo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Trejo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Uri Boyka!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trejo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boyka's waist but Boyka gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trejo off to one side.

Boyka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Trejo.

Boyka swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Trejo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Trejo.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Trejo wants to pass the guard but Boyka is keeping the position.
Trejo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Boyka is trying to buck Trejo off.
Trejo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Trejo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Trejo is trying to get an arm triangle but Boyka is defending well.
Boyka tries to bench press Trejo off him but Trejo keeps the position.

Trejo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Boyka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trejo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Trejo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Trejo misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Trejo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boyka keeps working.
Boyka is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trejo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boyka is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Trejo fails to land the takedown.
Trejo looks to score with a jab to the body but Boyka is just out of range.
Boyka shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Trejo sprawls well. Trejo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boyka gets slowly back to his feet.

Boyka rushes Trejo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Boyka gets underhooks to prevent Trejo's takedown attempt.
Boyka is trying to force a seperation but Trejo has the dominant position.
Boyka tries to pull guard but Trejo won't allow it.
Trejo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Boyka fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Trejo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Trejo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boyka tries to avoid it but Trejo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boyka to the ground. Boyka escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Trejo wants a takedown but no success here.
Boyka tries to circle away but Trejo has him pinned against the cage.
Trejo has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Boyka after a bit of a struggle.
Trejo jumps guard but Boyka turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Trejo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Boyka's efforts to push away.

Boyka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boyka connects with a looping right hand.

Trejo dives in and scores a takedown into Boyka's guard.

Trejo trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Boyka manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Trejo has control of Boyka's left arm, preventing Boyka from doing any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Trejo wants to hit a switch here but Boyka passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Trejo there!
Trejo is wriggling around trying to escape.

Trejo gets back to half guard.
Trejo regains full guard. Nicely done.
Trejo pulls Boyka in to control the position.
Boyka tries to free his leg and advance position but Trejo is retaining full guard.
Trejo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Boyka is one step ahead there.
Trejo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boyka manages to get himself to full guard.
Trejo throws an elbow that misses. Boyka uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Trejo's guard. Nice move by Boyka!
Trejo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Boyka's guard.

Trejo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Trejo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Boyka moves into the clinch.
Boyka wants to break the clinch but can't.
Trejo is trying to drag Boyka to the mat but Boyka just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Boyka drags the fight down to the ground.
Trejo stops Boyka from standing up.
Boyka utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Boyka is looking to stand up but Trejo isn't so interested in that idea.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Trejo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Trejo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Trejo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boyka's guard.
Trejo thows a huge punch but Boyka dodges it nicely.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Danny Trejo wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Trejo shoots in looking for a takedown but Boyka manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trejo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Danny Trejo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Trejo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
