Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Stanley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Romero! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero tries to keep at a distance but Stanley has taken the fight into the clinch. Romero can't break the clinch.
Romero tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Romero breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Romero wants to clinch up but Stanley keeps it at a distance. Romero on the wrong end of a nice hook. Stanley drops Romero with a left right combo! Stanley follows him down to the ground into side control.
It looks like Pedro Romero has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stanley cracks Romero with a big elbow. Stanley trying to control the action but Romero is working from the bottom. Romero tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stanley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The ground and pound from Stanley seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Stanley trying to control the action but Romero is working from the bottom. Romero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stanley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stanley throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stanley throws a series of punches but Romero moves out of range. Romero uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stanley. Stanley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stanley misses with a hook. Romero ducked under it nicely. Stanley thows a left - swing and a miss! Brian Stanley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stanley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Stanley circles away from the clinch attempt.

Stanley tries to throw a body punch but Romero avoids it by throwing Stanley back against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Romero. Stanley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

It looks like Brian Stanley has been cut. Stanley swats away the attempt to clinch by Romero. Stanley moves out of range as Romero strikes. Stanley shoots in and drives through. Romero sprawls well. Stanley misses with a low kick. Romero misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Stanley is breathing heavily. Stanley throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Romero can do anything to dispel that myth. Romero avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stanley. Stanley throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stanley fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Stanley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stanley moves in looking to clinch but Romero pushes him off. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Romero connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stanley's hands. Stanley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Romero breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Romero gets in close and instigates a clinch. Romero presses Stanley against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Romero lands a body punch in the clinch. Romero lands with a light punch inside. Romero gets through Stanley's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Stanley avoiding damage as Romero throws knees to the body.
