Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacob Watling! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Boris Babel! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Watling might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Watling wants to control but Babel is keeping busy.
Watling could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Babel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Watling's head. Watling holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Watling blocking the ground and pound attempt from Babel. Babel wants to advance to full mount but Watling doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Watling controls Babel momentarily but Babel frees himself. Watling wants to get back to his feet but Babel is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Babel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Jacob Watling has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Babel fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Babel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Babel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Well, if Babel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Babel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Babel throws a big elbow that misses. Watling trying to keep a closed guard but Babel is proving a slippery customer.
We're going to have a standup here because Jacob Watling wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Watling misses with a head kick.
Watling is breathing heavily. Babel closes the distance and clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Watling doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Babel has hold of one of Watling's legs. Watling is fighting the takedown attempt but Babel gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Babel trying to control but Watling is working from the bottom. Babel passes Watling's left leg - he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boris Babel dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Boris Babel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Babel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Watling is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Babel missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Babel throwing shots but Watling is blocking nicely. Watling avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Babel. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Babel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Watling with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Babel connects with a nice short shot to Watling's temple.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babel drops an elbow to the side of Watling's head. Babel not landing any meaningful shots this time. Boris Babel has got the better of the ground game so far. Babel lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Babel decides to stand up. No luck for Babel with that takedown attempt. Babel has closed the distance and engaged Watling in a clinch.
Babel is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Babel prevents a body shot from Watling. A battle for position here, against the cage. Babel has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Watling is trying to keep an underhook but Babel manages to get the takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Watling keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Babel content to control rather than advance. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Babel wants to pass to mount but Watling is defending the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boris Babel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Babel is defended easily by Watling. Babel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Watling avoids it really well and circles away. Watling closes the distance and clinches. Watling stops a takedown attempt from Babel.

Babel cracks Watling with a solid left hand. Watling wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Babel is now in half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are battling for position here. Watling manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Babel is stalling in the full guard. Watling keeping full guard, as Babel tries to pass.

Babel's corner is telling him to maintain position. Let's hope that Babel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Boris Babel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Babel looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Watling! Babel cracks Watling with a big elbow. Watling is working to avoid the ground and pound but Babel connects with a decent elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Watling struggling a bit here. Watling on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Watling is not content to let Babel control the position. Babel lands an elbow.
And that's the end of the fight! Boris Babel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Babel winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
