Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julian Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez has chosen Angel Of Death as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julian Reis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez shoots in for a double leg but Reis sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rodriguez moves into range and clinches up with Reis. Rodriguez misses with a punch on the inside.
Reis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Rodriguez takes a shot to the head. Rodriguez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rodriguez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Reis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Reis getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Rodriguez fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Reis checks it well. Reis ducks under a wild hook from Rodriguez. Rodriguez is looking to clinch but Reis is avoiding it.
Reis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Rodriguez gets back to full guard.
Rodriguez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Reis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rodriguez scores with a short punch from the bottom. Rodriguez pulls Reis in close to prevent any damage. Rodriguez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Reis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rodriguez doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Reis throws a big elbow that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rodriguez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Reis! Rodriguez lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Reis regains half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reis is pressing down on Rodriguez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rodriguez! Rodriguez tries to reverse the position but Reis maintains control. Rodriguez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Reis is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rodriguez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rodriguez shrugs it off. Rodriguez is working to get back to half guard.

Reis in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Reis avoids the attempt from Rodriguez to control. Reis breaks from Rodriguez's wrist control and lands an elbow. Reis looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Reis.
Reis postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rodriguez looks a forlorn figure.
Rodriguez is rocked! Rodriguez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Reis landing punches. Rodriguez in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Rodriguez is still in real trouble! Can Reis finish him? A big strike lands for Reis! That's really hurt Rodriguez and he's turned his back - Reis keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Reis jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
