Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kiyoshi Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasha Petrova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsumoto comes to the cage accompanied by Carl Douglas - Kung fu fighting. Kiyoshi Matsumoto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kiyoshi Matsumoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sasha Petrova!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrova throws the left hand but Matsumoto avoids the punch easily.
Petrova shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Matsumoto connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Petrova's hands.
A looping hook to the body misses from Petrova. Matsumoto does a little dance to reset his feet.
Matsumoto looks to score with a jab to the body but Petrova is just out of range.
Matsumoto misses the shot to the body.
Petrova moves away from the strike by Matsumoto.
Matsumoto ducks right into an uppercut from Petrova.
Matsumoto throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Petrova ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Matsumoto moves away.
Petrova does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Petrova takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Petrova wants to slow Matsumoto down by chopping away at his legs.
Matsumoto fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Petrova scores with a punch to the head.
Matsumoto swings for the body but Petrova moves out of range.
Nice straight punches there by Petrova. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Petrova.
Matsumoto misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Petrova.
Petrova throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Petrova takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Matsumoto digs a good body shot into Petrova's ribs.
Petrova looks to throw the jab but Matsumoto is out of range.
Matsumoto keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Petrova tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Matsumoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Petrova.
Matsumoto slips under a jab.
Matsumoto lunges at Petrova with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Petrova's hand.
Petrova darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Petrova throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Matsumoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Matsumoto tries to score with a low kick but Petrova moves his leg out of the way.
Petrova misses with a low kick as Matsumoto jumps back.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Petrova lands with a straight right. Matsumoto didn't see that one coming.

Matsumoto shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Petrova napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Petrova is rocked!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Matsumoto remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Matsumoto throwing strikes but Petrova manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Petrova decides to stand back up. Petrova steps back and let's Matsumoto get back to his feet.
Matsumoto chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Petrova throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Matsumoto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Petrova was covering up waiting for the punch and Matsumoto finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Matsumoto in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Matsumoto's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Matsumoto stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Petrova swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Matsumoto trying to control but Petrova is working from the bottom.
Matsumoto is working Petrova over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Petrova is still in real trouble! Can Matsumoto finish him?
Matsumoto scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Matsumoto not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Matsumoto postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Petrova utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Matsumoto is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Matsumoto slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Matsumoto passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Matsumoto lands a few punches from side control.
Matsumoto connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Petrova some visible discomfort.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big shot lands for Matsumoto! That's hurt Petrova! Will he recover? Matsumoto fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
