Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cice Salace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davison has chosen Nowhere to run as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Cice Salace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Davison! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davison misses with a combination
and Salace counters with a straight right hand. Joe Davison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Salace shoots in for a double leg but Davison sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Davison misses with a right hand and Davison takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Salace waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Davison. Salace throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Davison was covering up waiting for the punch and Salace finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Davison throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Salace throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davison works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Salace's corner is telling him to maintain position. Davison keeping moving, preventing Salace from controlling successfully.

Salace with a couple of short strikes. Salace cracks Davison with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Davison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Salace. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Davison wants to hold on but Salace pushes him away. Salace prevents Davison from getting the reversal. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Davison is squirming around, avoiding Salace's attempts to control the action. Salace looking to control and managing it successfully. Salace looking to control but Davison is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Salace pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Salace mounts Davison! Really nice guard pass there! Davison has given up his back here.

and Salace counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Salace bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Salace is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Davison's shoulder. That is not cool. Cice Salace overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Davison tries to improve position but can't. Davison is not content to let Salace control the position. Salace landing strikes. Salace wants to control but Davison is keeping him busy. Salace has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salace goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Davison has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Salace but great work by Davison. Salace is trying to improve his position. Davison is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Salace knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Davison throwing strikes but Salace manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Salace passes the guard and advances to mount! Salace wants to control the pace but Davison is squirming around nicely. Davison slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davison won't allow Salace to pass to mount. Salace is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Davison sees it coming and defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davison wants to get back to his feet. Davison slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Davison looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Salace passes into half guard.

A big mistake from Salace there, giving up the dominant position! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Davison trying to control but Salace is working from the bottom. Salace is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Davison can do to turn this around? Davison postures up and lands a big shot to Salace's brow. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Davison trying to control but Salace is working from the bottom. and Salace counters with a single leg into guard. Davison didn't expect that. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Davison keeping moving, preventing Salace from controlling successfully. Davison is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Salace tries to free his leg and advance position but Davison is retaining full guard. Davison escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Salace stands and throws Davison's legs to the side, diving into side control. Cice Salace is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Davison manages to work his way to half guard, despite Salace's best efforts. Salace is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Davison sees it coming and defends easily. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Salace in particular looking to stall. Salace has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Davison trying to control here.
Salace is taking a breather. Davison says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Davison won't allow Salace to pass to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cice Salace. Salace staying out of range there. A swing and a miss from Davison. Davison stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cice Salace. That's going to take a lot out of him. Salace shoots in and bounces Davison off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Salace forces his way into half guard. Salace seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Davison does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Salace takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davison is trying to get back to full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Salace controlling the pace.
We're going to have a standup here because Cice Salace wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Davison moves away from the strike by Salace. Joe Davison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Davison misses with an uppercut
and Salace counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Salace is working for a kimura but Davison is defending it quite comfortably.
Davison is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Salace pulls his head out easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Cice Salace showed his dominance in that final round. Well Salace has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
