Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smeagol Trahald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Hess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Smeagol Trahald!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hess throws a sloppy head kick and Trahald moves out of range easily.

Trahald gets the takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hess pushes Trahald away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Trahald gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Trahald tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hess is looking to regain half guard here but Trahald keeps moving and retains side control.
Trahald sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hess is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hess is trying to get back to half guard.
Hess gets back to half guard.

Trahald is trying to work for a kimura but Hess is defending well.
Trahald is looking to advance position but Hess won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hess pushes Trahald off looking to stand but Trahald dives back in and keeps control.

Trahald is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hess doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Trahald.

Trahald is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hess defends it well.
Hess is trying to get back to full guard.
Trahald looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hess keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Trahald looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hess has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Trahald. Oh but Hess has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Trahald goes limp - he's gone! Hess jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jake Hess!
