Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Villareal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Villareal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Desmond Nelson! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Villareal takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nelson looks to land a combination. Villareal sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Nelson throws a right and a left that Villareal avoids nicely. Nelson tries a head kick but it misses.
Nelson misses with a body kick. Villareal with a poor takedown letting Nelson counter with a right hand. Nelson looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Villareal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nelson as he avoids it easily. Nelson thuds his right hand into Villareal's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Nelson wants to clinch. Nelson throws a low kick, looking for Villareal's leg but Villareal calmly moves out of range. Nelson moves in looking to clinch but Villareal pushes him off. Nelson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nelson throws a leg kick but Villareal sees it coming and moves out of range. Nelson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Villareal decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Villareal thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Villareal looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Villareal is working hard here to advance position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Villareal lands a nice short elbow. Villareal is trying to work for a kimura but Nelson is defending well.
Nelson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Villareal pulls his head out easily. Villareal is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Villareal is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nelson defends it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Villareal is breathing heavily. Villareal is looking for a kimura here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Villareal is looking to advance position but Nelson won't allow it. Nelson is trying to control but can't.
Villareal is working for a submission of some sort.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nelson throws a one two combo.
Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Villareal paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Villareal showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Nelson.
Villareal closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Nelson struggling a bit here. Villareal postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Nelson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Villareal is controlling him well. Villareal is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nelson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Nelson throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Villareal trying to control the action but Nelson is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nelson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Villareal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Nelson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Villareal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Villareal trying to control but Nelson is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Villareal dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Nice straight punches there by Nelson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Nelson. Richard Villareal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Villareal wants to clinch. Nelson shoots and misses and Villareal counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Villareal throwing strikes from guard but Nelson blocks nicely. Villareal stands up from Nelson's guard - Villareal perhaps looking for a knockout. Villareal tries to clinch up but Nelson circles away and keeps his distance. Villareal looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Nelson is rocked! Villareal is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Nelson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
