Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Hudock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hudock comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dark Tranquillity - Her Silent Language kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Hudock! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A right-left combo lands from Diaz.
It looks like Jack Hudock has been cut. Hudock doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Diaz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hudock manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Diaz wants to pass the guard but Hudock is keeping the position. Hudock is pulling down on Diaz's head. It's preventing any offense from Diaz, at least for the moment. Diaz wants to control from the top but Hudock keeps moving. Hudock is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hudock trying to keep a closed guard but Diaz is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Diaz misses with a hook. Hudock ducked under it nicely. Diaz is looking to clinch but Hudock is avoiding it.
Diaz misses with a wild body shot. Diaz fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Diaz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hudock. Diaz misses with a hook. Hudock gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hudock is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Diaz defends well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz looking to pass the guard. Diaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hudock is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hudock has escaped and now he's on top! Hudock stopping the sweep attempt from Diaz. Hudock is looking to pass into half guard but Diaz pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Diaz is in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hudock is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hudock is trying to keep Diaz in close.
Diaz trying to control but Hudock is working from the bottom. Diaz looking to pass the guard. Diaz is looking to advance position but Hudock has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Diaz working to try and regain half guard.
Hudock breaks from Diaz's wrist control and lands an elbow. Hudock goes for an armbar but Diaz turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Diaz.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz works a leg free and moves into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Diaz is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Hudock still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Hudock has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Diaz is trying to get back to half guard. Diaz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Diaz is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Diaz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jack Hudock's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Diaz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hudock. Hudock walks into a stiff left hand from Diaz. Diaz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Diaz tries a head kick but it misses.
Diaz misses with a left hand and Hudock counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Hudock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to avoid it but Hudock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diaz to the ground. Diaz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Matt Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hudock looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Diaz! Hudock tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Matt Diaz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hudock is looking for a kimura but Diaz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hudock to get the leverage. Hudock with the ground and pound but Diaz uses the opportunity to regain guard. Hudock pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Diaz is keeping the position for now. Diaz has his foot on Hudock's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hudock works his way back into a safe position though. Diaz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Diaz working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Hudock looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Diaz! Submission of the night perhaps?
