Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Redban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redban kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is M83 - Midnight City. Brian Redban had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brian Redban! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 38 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Thomas! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Redban misses its intended target. Thomas blocks a head kick by Redban.
A jab from Redban does it's job there. Thomas fails with an attempt to clinch.
Redban turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Redban defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Thomas. Redban shoots for a takedown but Thomas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Redban throws a push kick but Thomas slaps the foot to one side. Thomas tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Redban counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Redban stuffs the takedown attempt from Thomas. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet. Redban takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Thomas is looking to clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thomas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Redban swivels and escapes. Brian Redban has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Thomas. Redban feints and then cracks Thomas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Thomas down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas misses with a double jab
and Redban counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Thomas throws a combination that misses and Redban counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Redban connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Thomas gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Redban drops down looking for an ankle pick but Thomas pulls his leg out and moves away.
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Redban paws at him with a jab and circles away. Thomas takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Thomas fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Thomas tries to clinch up but Redban circles away and keeps his distance. Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Redban as he jumps to the side. A jab from Redban does it's job there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Redban cracks the inside of Thomas's front leg. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Redban misses with a body kick. Brian Redban seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Redban moves out of range as Thomas strikes. Sloppy strikes from Redban. Those never looked like landing. Redban shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense. Redban pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Redban thows a body shot but no joy. Redban tries to sprawl but Thomas drives through with a takedown into half guard. Thomas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Redban's head. Redban makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Redban. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thomas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas landing with the ground and pound. Thomas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Redban trying to control the position.
Thomas won't allow Redban to sweep him here. Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Redban swivels though and keeps the full guard. Redban is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Redban is trying to work for a kimura but Thomas is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Redban not doing much here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Redban seems to be working for a kimura but Thomas defends the submission attempt. Redban wants to stand up but Thomas is controlling the position.
Redban passes the guard and advances to mount! Thomas tries to hold on but Redban pushes him away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Redban thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Redban avoids the attempt from Thomas to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Redban dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Thomas throws a right hand that Redban ducks under and follows up with a left that Redban also avoids with ease. Redban thuds his shin into the meat of Thomas's side. Redban fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Redban tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Paul Thomas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Thomas is looking to clinch. Redban shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely. A shot to the body from Thomas misses and Redban counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Redban throws a hook but Thomas blocks it. Redban lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Redban is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thomas. Thomas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Thomas takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Redban looks to land a right hand but Thomas moved out of range. Thomas scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Thomas throws a low kick but it's checked well by Redban. Redban gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Thomas misses with a series of wild punches.

and Redban counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Redban feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Thomas's calf. Redban just misses with a punch to the body.
Redban shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily. Thomas fails in his attempt to clinch. Redban shoots in but Thomas avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brian Redban. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thomas wants to clinch. Redban stuns Thomas with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Redban dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Thomas. That did some damage! Thomas tries to clinch up. The fighters circling - Redban throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Redban shoots in but Thomas avoids the takedown attempt easily. Redban lands a head shot. Thomas shoots for a double leg takedown but Redban sprawls well. He's pushed Thomas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. This has been an exciting period of action! Thomas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Thomas slips under a jab. Thomas on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. No luck for Thomas with that takedown attempt. Redban throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Thomas sees it coming and avoids it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thomas is defended easily by Redban.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Redban shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely. Redban misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Thomas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Redban circles away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Redban is defended easily by Thomas. Thomas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Redban napping and manages to drive through into side control! Thomas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Redban to his feet. Redban throws a body kick that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jab from Thomas. Redban defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Thomas. Redban misses with a right hand and Thomas counters with a stiff right hand. Redban looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Thomas fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Redban checks it well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Redban finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Thomas leaves Redban with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Redban takes a shot right to the bread basket. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Redban wants to slow Thomas down by chopping away at his legs. Redban misses with a looping right. Thomas closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Redban quickly recovers to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Redban will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Redban counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Redban misses with a hook. Thomas ducked under it nicely. Redban chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Redban throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thomas on the side of the head. Thomas checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Redban connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Redban throws a sloppy head kick and Thomas moves out of range easily. Thomas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Redban to counter with a crisp jab.
Thomas is rocked! Redban is pawing at Thomas, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Thomas's nose. Thomas is badly hurt! Redban pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Thomas tries desperately to hold on but Redban is relentless in his assault! As Thomas receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Redban away and this one is in the books!
