Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Twist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cross comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The American Dream Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Twist! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 11 - 2, fighting out of New York, David Cross! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cross throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cross lands with a nice body punch. Cross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Twist was well out of range. Poor timing from Cross. Nice defenses there by Twist. Twist pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Cross checks a low kick from Twist. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Twist. Cross takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Twist throws a hook but Cross blocks it. Cross takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Cross cracks Twist with an open hand slap. Cross checks a low kick from Twist. Cross looks to score with a jab to the body but Twist is just out of range. Twist pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Twist loads up on a big right hand but Cross slips the punch. Twist takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Twist looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Cross scores with a jab. Twist lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Twist throws a half hearted mid kick. Twist avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Cross jabbing away but nothing is landing. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Twist.
Twist does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Tony Twist is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A head kick misses from Twist. Cross throws a jab when Twist was well out of range. Cross on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Twist takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Cross avoids a kick to the body.
Twist defending well as Cross loads up on a big left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Twist ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cross moves away. Twist throws a predictable looking body shot
and Cross counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Twist has managed to clinch.
Cross lands a body punch in the clinch. Cross digs a right hand into Twist's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Twist's gas tank. Cross tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Twist pushes off an throws an elbow but Cross leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Cross can't find room to land a body shot as Twist controls the action.
Twist throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Cross fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Still in the clinch, Cross scores with a nice short uppercut. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cross. Twist throws an elbow but it misses.
Twist misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Cross.
Cross lands on the inside with an uppercut. Twist struggles to land a body shot inside as Cross controls his hands.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Cross avoids the elbow strike from Twist, against the cage.
Cross avoids a wild elbow strike from Twist. Twist misses with a short punch on the inside. Twist tries to land a knee to the head but Cross blocks with his arms.
Cross turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Cross manages to end up in side control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cross is chipping away with strikes.
Cross grinds an elbow into Twist's temple. Twist takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! An elbow from Cross crashes against the mat.
Cross lands a nice forearm strike. Cross sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Twist is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cross has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Twist parries the strikes from Cross easily there. Cross is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Twist to escape.
Cross cracks Twist with a big right hand but Twist just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cross throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Twist is not content to let Cross control the position. Twist is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cross connects with a decent elbow. Cross creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Twist sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Cross lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Twist knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cross on the ground. Check out the look on Cross's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Twist is rocked! Cross scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Twist is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Cross can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Cross! David Cross is the new lightweight champion! David Cross very nearly forgot to thank //buriedALIVE// Fight Gear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
