Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carmine Rose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Austin comes to the cage accompanied by Six Million Dollar Man. Rose has chosen Red Hot Chili Peppers- Can't Stop as his entrance music. Steve Austin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carmine Rose!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Austin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A combination from Rose does no damage.
Rose checks a leg kick.

Austin drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Austin with a flurry of punches that miss.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Rose doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Austinis looking to pass into half guard but Rose pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Rose is in guard.
Austin looking for a sweep. Not yet Austin, not yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Austin is on top in guard.
Austin looking to pass the guard.
Austin postures up in Rose's guard and throws a big left but Rose blocks it.
Austin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rose controls Austin momentarily but Austin frees himself.
Austin trying to control the position from guard on top but Rose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rose wants to sweep but no luck.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rose is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Austin connects with a couple of short punches.
Rose doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Austin scoring well with a low kick there.
Austin pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rose is out of range and Austin settles back down.
Rose avoids a punch combination nicely.
A combination from Rose does no damage.
Austin pushes Rose away with a front kick.
Rose on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Rose is looking to clinch but Austin is avoiding it.
Austin throws a body punch but Rose moves out of range.
Good shot there by Austin.
A punch combination from Rose misses.
Decent striking displayed by Austin there.
Austin throws a jab when Rose was well out of range.

Austin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Austin lands in his opponent's guard.
Rose manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rose looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Austin tries to lock up and control but Rose gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rose landing shots from mount.
Austin throwing hammer fists to the chest of Rose. What's that going to do exactly?
Austin manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Rose wants to get back to his feet.
Austin moves into full guard.
Rose must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Austin has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Rose should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Austin has tightened it up now! Rose should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Steve Austin!
