3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gerard Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Apo Abukay! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott moves into the clinch. Abukay tries to pull guard but Scott won't allow it.
A battle for position here, against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Scott's face as he tries to break the clinch. Abukay is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Scott is keeping busy. Scott stops a takedown attempt from Abukay.
Scott gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Abukay regains guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Scott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Abukay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Scott has managed to get both his arms back between Abukay's legs - danger averted. Scott wanted to stand there but Abukay had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Abukay is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Scott is aware though and is defending well.

Scott wants to stand but Abukay has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Scott trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Abukay is looking for a triangle but Scott pushes his legs off easily.
Abukay tries to land a sweep but no joy. Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Abukay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Scott won't allow Abukay to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abukay is looking for a triangle here but Scott uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Scott working away. Scott stands up and we're back to a striking position. Gerard Scott is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A punch combination from Scott misses. Scott feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Abukays jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Scott clinches up against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Abukay breaks from the clinch.
Scott is looking to clinch but Abukay is avoiding it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott doesn't manage to clinch there - Abukay circles away.
Scott rushes Abukay and presses him up against the cage. Scott breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Scott lands a jab to the nose. Scott has taken the fight to the clinch.
Scott gets through Abukay's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Scott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Scott throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Scott throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott gets a clinch. Scott breaks the clinch.
Scott darts in and clinches Abukay up against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Scott prevents a body shot from Abukay. Scott breaks from the clinch.
Scott misses with a jab, cross combination.
Scott fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Abukay, pushing him back against the cage. Scott escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scott misses with the combination.
Scott is looking to clinch. Scott throws a front kick aimed at Abukay's knee but Abukay avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gerard Scott dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Scott wants to clinch up but Abukay keeps it at a distance. Scott closes the distance and clinches. Abukay is trying to trip Scott. He has hold of a leg but Scott is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Abukay persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Abukay wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving. Scott avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Abukay drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Abukay jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Abukay won't allow Scott to get back to his feet. Scott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Abukay prevents Scott from getting back to his feet. Abukay pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Scott is keeping the position for now. Scott wants to improve his position but instead Abukay has moved into half guard.

Abukay is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Scott is just riding it out for now. Abukay eventually gives up the hold. Scott tries to kick Abukay off but Abukay keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Abukay is trying to control. Scott wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Abukay seems to be looking for submissions.

Abukay jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Scott manages to avoid the submission attempt. Scott is trying to buck Abukay off. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Scott wants to control but Abukay postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scott is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Abukay has just dragged him back down to the mat. Scott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Abukay on the ground. Scott is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott is trying to control Abukay's posture but Abukay avoids it. Abukay has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Scott is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Abukay yanks on the arm and Scott is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Abukay.
