Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daryl Brick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Truman Trout! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trout closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brick circles away. Trout is looking to clinch. Trout tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Brick shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Brick was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Brick prevents Trout from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brick has control of Trout's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Trout regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brick trying to control but he's not successful this time. Trout keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trout wants to control but Brick is having none of it. Brick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Trout is working to get back to half guard.
Brick controlling his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Trout is working to get back to half guard.
Trout really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Brick avoids the attempt from Trout to control. Brick trying to control but Trout is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brick is working for a guillotine from mount but Trout frees his head quite easily.
Trout is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Brick is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Trout is in real trouble.
Trout rolls, trying to escape but Brick keeps control of the position.
Brick gets his hands free as Trout looks to control. You can see the frustration on Trout's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Trout trying to control the hands but Brick won't let him. Trout looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trout is trying to break free.
Brick scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Brick tightening his grip on Trout, looking for the choke. Trout looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Brick working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Trout trying to control but not successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Trout should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Brick just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Brick tightening his grip on Trout, looking for the choke. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Trout has eaten all the pies! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Trout breaks Brick's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daryl Brick dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Brick scores with a takedown into Trout's guard. Brick pushes down on Trout's leg and manages to get into half guard. Brick content to control rather than advance. Brick is trying to work for a kimura but Trout is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Brick is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Trout has managed to free his arm - good work. Trout has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brick is working away from the top position though. Trout wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Brick is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Trout is just riding it out for now. Brick eventually gives up the hold. Brick is trying to work for a kimura but Trout is defending well.
Trout is trying to get back to full guard. Brick works his way into side control. Brick tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brick has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brick trying to control the action but Trout is working from the bottom. Brick has hold of Trout's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Trout seems comfortable defending it but Brick has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Trout is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Trout is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Brick couldn't care less - he's delighted!
