Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Courtney Upshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lisandro Licha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Upshaw comes into the arena with Retaliation blaring out of the sound system. Licha has chosen In Bloom as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Courtney Upshaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lisandro Licha! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Upshaw throws a right and a left that Licha avoids nicely. A shot to the body from Upshaw misses and Licha counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Courtney Upshaw has been cut. Upshaw throws a low kick but Licha moves out of range easily. Licha feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Licha has gone for a leg lock! Upshaw slips out almost immediately though and dives into Licha's guard. Licha trying to keep a closed guard but Upshaw is proving a slippery customer.
Licha tries to land a sweep but no joy. Upshaw has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Upshaw throws a big right hand that misses. Upshaw won't allow Licha to get back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Upshaw wants to control from the top but Licha keeps moving. Licha looking for a sweep. Not yet Licha, not yet. Upshaw wants to control from the top but Licha keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Licha controls Upshaw momentarily but Upshaw frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Upshaw throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Licha stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Upshaw fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Licha looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Licha looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Upshaw connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Licha momentarily.
Licha changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Upshaw tries to avoid it but Licha manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Upshaw to the ground. Upshaw escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Upshaw lunges at Licha with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Licha's hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Licha checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Upshaw connects with a looping right hand.
Upshaw fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Licha looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Licha looks winded! Upshaw lands with a hook. Licha tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Licha showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Upshaw.
Upshaw throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Courtney Upshaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Licha blocks a low kick nicely. Licha dodges the punch combination from Upshaw.
Courtney Upshaw is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Licha closes this distance looking for a takedown but Upshaw circles away. Upshaw swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Upshaw lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Upshaw connects with the punch. Licha uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Upshaw. Upshaw swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Licha counters with a straight right hand. A left and a right from Upshaw both land. Nice combination. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Upshaw lands a left and a right that sends Licha crashing to the canvas! Upshaw dives into mount looking to finish!
Licha is rocked! Upshaw unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Licha wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Upshaw celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
