Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vlad Impaler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norbert Schwager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Impaler! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Norbert Schwager! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwager lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Vlad Impaler has been cut. Schwager swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Impaler shoots in looking for a takedown. Schwager tries to sprawl out of it but Impaler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Schwager manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Schwager swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Impaler uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Schwager. Impaler tries a low kick but Schwager avoids it. Impaler throws a jab when Schwager was well out of range. Schwager swings for the body but Impaler moves out of range.
Impaler dodges the punch combination from Schwager.
Schwager throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Impaler moves away from the strike by Schwager. Impaler avoids the body shot from Schwager.
That's one minute gone in the round. Impaler closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Schwager quickly recovers to half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Impaler missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Schwager is looking to escape. Impaler is pressing down on Schwager's thigh, looking to free his foot. Schwager is holding on for now. Schwager is trying to stand back up but Impaler is controlling him

Schwager is looking to escape. Impaler seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Impaler prevents Schwager from standing back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Impaler sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Schwager defending well though. Impaler content to control rather than advance. Schwager wants to get back to his feet.
Schwager really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Impaler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Impaler passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Schwager! Impaler with good strikes from the mount here! Schwager squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Impaler lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Schwager is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Impaler is landing with some decent strikes but Schwager is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Impaler wants to control the pace but Schwager is squirming around nicely. Impaler working the ground and pound effectively.
Schwager is bucking up trying to escape but Impaler cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Impaler looking to control but Schwager is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Schwager squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A nice elbow there by Impaler.
Schwager is rocked! Impaler breaks from Schwager's wrist control and lands an elbow. Schwager is still in real trouble! Can Impaler finish him? The referee warns Schwager that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Impaler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Schwager wants to try and get back to his feet. Impaler controlling from mount. Schwager is squirming around, avoiding Impaler's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Impaler postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Schwager looks a forlorn figure.
Schwager seems to have recovered his senses. Impaler putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Impaler tries to control but Schwager wriggling away. Impaler tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Impaler pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Impaler with shots to the head and body - Schwager looks very uncomfortable down there. Schwager is trying to get back to his feet but can't. More strikes from Impaler and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Impaler is our winner by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vlad Impaler! Vlad Impaler retains his lightweight title! A relieved looking Vlad Impaler thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
