Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marco Bühler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan De Pury!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Pury looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bühler is fending him off so far but De Pury persists. Nope, Bühler circles away and we're back to standing.
Bühler fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bühler uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bühler displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from De Pury.
De Pury has a takedown stuffed.
Marco Bühler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan De Pury.
Bühler throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
De Pury takes a swing at Bühler's ribcage but misses.
De Pury throws a series of punches but Bühler avoids them all with ease.
De Pury takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
De Pury tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bühler sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten De Pury somewhat.
De Pury tries to move into range but Bühler moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Marco Bühler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bühler avoids the head kick by De Pury.
De Pury on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bühler. Bühler obviously looking to wear him down.
Bühler throws a front kick aimed at De Pury's knee but De Pury avoids it well.

Bühler fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and De Pury has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Bühler feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits De Purys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Bühler shoots in and bounces De Pury off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bühler trying to move into half guard but instead De Pury has managed to sweep!
Bühler wants to sweep here but De Pury controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De Pury wants to stand but Bühler is controlling his posture from full guard.
De Pury must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

De Pury trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as De Pury accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Pury is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan De Pury was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Bühler counters with a good low kick that De Pury was not able to check.

Bühler moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
De Pury looks winded!
A nice inside leg kick there by Bühler. That's going to slow De Pury down.
De Pury is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bühler is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for De Pury.

Bühler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. De Pury manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if De Pury can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bühler postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Bühler postures up in De Pury's guard and throws a big left but De Pury blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bühler is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Bühler passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Bühler wants to control but De Pury is keeping him busy.
Bühler scores with a couple of short elbows.

Bühler lands an elbow.
Bühler prevents De Pury from escaping the position.
Bühler avoids the strikes from the bottom by De Pury.
Bühler is chipping away with strikes.
Bühler grinds an elbow into De Pury's temple.


De Pury is rocked!

Bühler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. De Pury knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
De Pury tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bühler wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
De Pury takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Bühler cracks De Pury with an elbow. That is naaassty.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bühler buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
De Pury will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bühler lands a nice leg kick that just misses De Pury's sensitive parts.
Bühler throws a hook but De Pury blocks it.

Bühler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed De Pury's head.
De Pury is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bühler looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Bühler wants to lay and pray for a moment but De Pury keeps working.

Bühler seems to be working for a kimura but De Pury defends the submission attempt.
De Pury really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bühler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bühler lands a big shot there that rocks De Pury but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
De Pury is in all sorts of trouble here.
De Pury is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bühler wants to control the pace but De Pury is squirming around nicely.

Bühler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
