Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Owen Wash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Uri Valkavitch! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wash clinches. Valkavitch is defending well against a takedown attempt. Wash drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Valkavitch gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Valkavitch manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Valkavitch had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wash defends it easily. Valkavitch escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wash gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wash trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Wash really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wash wants to pass the guard but Valkavitch is keeping the position. Valkavitch manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round. Wash's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Valkavitch tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Valkavitch tries to control but Wash wriggling away. Wash tries to buck Valkavitch off but he can't manage it. Valkavitch controlling the position easily from mount. Wash trying desperately to get to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valkavitch throws some wild stikes that Wash manages to avoid easily.
Wash is trying to stand. Wash is breathing heavily. Wash is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Valkavitch has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wash is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

This has been an exciting period of action! Valkavitch misses with a head shot. Wash defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Valkavitch.

Valkavitch controlling the pace for now. Valkavitch trying to control but Wash is having none of it. Wash squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Wash is bucking up trying to escape but Valkavitch cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wash is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Valkavitch looking to control but Wash is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Wash is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Valkavitch throwing strikes here but Wash is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
You get the feeling that Wash really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valkavitch with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Valkavitch landing shots from mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Valkavitch looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Valkavitch thowing shots but they're missing. Wash is trying to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Uri Valkavitch dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Valkavitch lands with a nice combination. Wash backs away looking to recover.
Wash is rocked! Wash tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Valkavitch counters with a two punch combo. Oh Wash is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Wash moves to clinch but Valkavitch breaks away and Wash takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Wash tries to clinch and Valkavitch counters with a series of strikes. Wash will be more careful next time no doubt. Wash closes the distance looking to clinch and Valkavitch counters with a left and a right that stings Wash. Wash tries to clinch and Valkavitch counters with a one-two to the body. Valkavitch fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wash avoids it really well and circles away. Wash tries to clinch but Valkavitch moves away and Valkavitch counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wash is looking to clinch but Valkavitch is avoiding it.
Wash wants to clinch and Valkavitch counters with a left right combination that sends Wash crashing to the mat - Valkavitch wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Wash out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
