Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kaito Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicholas Saoud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicholas Saoud is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaito Suzuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nicholas Saoud!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saoud ducks under a wild hook from Suzuki.
Saoud fails with an attempt to clinch.
Suzuki digs a good hook to Saoud's body.
Suzuki swats away the attempt to clinch by Saoud.
Saoud avoids the body shot from Suzuki.
Suzuki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Saoud manages to avoid it.
Saoud tries to clinch up but Suzuki circles away and keeps his distance.
Saoud is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Saoud tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Suzuki looks to score with a jab to the body but Saoud is just out of range.
Saoud displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Suzuki throws out the jab.
Saoud moves in looking to clinch but Suzuki pushes him off.
Suzuki misses with a hook
enabling Saoud to counter with a crisp jab.
Saoud ducks under a wild hook from Suzuki.
Saoud fails with an attempt to clinch.
Suzuki scores with a body shot.
Suzuki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Saoud.
Suzuki thows a body shot but no joy.
Suzuki misses with a body shot
and Saoud counters with a flying knee. Nice.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Suzuki lands a body shot.

Saoud closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Suzuki to the mat! Suzuki manages to get full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Suzuki looking for a sweep. Not yet Suzuki, not yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Saoud wants to stand but Suzuki is controlling his posture from full guard.
Saoud stopping the sweep attempt from Suzuki.
Saoud is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Suzuki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Saoud can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Suzuki wants to stand and escape but Saoud is having none of it.
Saoud controls from within his opponent's guard.
Saoud would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Suzuki working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Saoud.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Suzuki is on top in guard.
Suzuki with a flurry of punches that miss.
Saoud wants to get back to his feet but Suzuki is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Saoud is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Suzuki decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Suzuki connects with a crisp jab.


It looks like Nicholas Saoud has been cut.
Suzuki connects with a body shot.
Saoud looks winded!
Suzuki misses with a telegraphed body shot
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Saoud counters with a head kick.
Kaito Suzuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suzuki scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Suzuki changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Suzuki cracks Saoud with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Suzuki has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Saoud to stand back up!


Saoud is rocked!
Saoud switches off momentarily and Suzuki cracks him with a monster right hand! Saoud topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Suzuki dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Suzuki!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kaito Suzuki!
A very excited looking Kaito Suzuki made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
