Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 4 - 3, fighting out of Tokyo, Woohun Do!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan Tamad!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do throws a right hand that misses
and Tamad counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Do throws a series of punches but Tamad avoids them all with ease.
A looping hook to the body misses from Do. Tamad does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tamad steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Do.
Do uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tamad has time to react.
Do goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Tamad ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Do throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
so Tamad counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tamad throws a strike but Do rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Do with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tamad wants to sweep here but Do controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Do throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Do throwing strikes from guard but Tamad blocks nicely.
Do landing with the ground and pound.
Tamad had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Do defends it easily.
Do trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Do connects with a couple of short punches.
Tamad looking for a sweep. Not yet Tamad, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Do landing with the ground and pound.
Do in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tamad looking to hit a scissor sweep but Do is one step ahead there.
Tamad throws his legs up looking for a submission but Do uses it to pass to side control.
Do tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Do has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tamad is looking to reverse the position.
Tamad is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Do has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Do landing punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Do looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Do avoids the attempt from Tamad to control.
Do raining down shots from the mount!
Tamad sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Do scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Do lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Do works his way into full mount!
Tamad is looking to improve his position but Do isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Do lands a big shot there that rocks Tamad but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Do pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Do lands a nice shot to the head.
Tamad taking shots to the head.

Tamad is rocked!
Tamad keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Tamad is still in real trouble! Can Do finish him?

Do prevents Tamad from getting the reversal.
Do putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Tamad is trying to escape the mount.
Do postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Tamad in real trouble here! The ref calls for Tamad to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Woohun Do!
Woohun Do was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
