Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grant Klum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaer Emilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grant Klum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jaer Emilson! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Emilson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Emilson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Emilson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Klum works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Emilson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jaer Emilson wasn't active enough on the ground. Emilson feints a jab promting Klum to slip. Emilson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Klum slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Grant Klum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emilson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Emilson wants it to stay on the feet. Emilson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Klum as he jumps to the side. Emilson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Klum sprawls well. Klum wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Emilson gets slowly back to his feet. Emilson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Emilson prevents Klum from escaping the position. Emilson stands up and we're back to a striking position. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Klum throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Emilson. Klum misses with a two punch combination.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Emilson. Grant Klum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaer Emilson. Emilson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Klum napping and manages to drive through into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Klum trying to remain calm as Emilson controls from the top position. Emilson wants to stand but Klum has his arm trapped. Emilson with the ground and pound but Klum regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Emilson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Emilson wants to stand up but Klum is controlling the position.
Emilson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Emilson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Emilson wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emilson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Emilson tries to stand and escape but Klum is controlling the position. Emilson escapes and gets back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emilson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Klum on his heels. He'll look to pass Klum's guard now, I'm sure. Emilson tries to stand but Klum is controlling from the bottom. Klum preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Emilson throwing strikes but missing. Emilson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Emilson connects with a couple of short punches. Klum has a closed guard, preventing Emilson from standing up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emilson wants to control from the top but Klum keeps moving. Emilson tries to free his leg and advance position but Klum is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emilson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Emilson showed some decent athleticism there. Emilson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Klum. Emilson winds up and cracks Klum with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Emilson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emilson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Emilson tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Emilson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Klum does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Klum stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Klum throws a shot to the body.

It looks like Jaer Emilson has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Emilson closes the distance and clinches up with Klum, looking for a takedown. Emilson pushes Klum against the cage but Klum circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Emilson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Klum dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Emilson. That did some damage! Klum fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Klum is trying hard to land a takedown here. Emilson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grant Klum. That's going to take a lot out of him. Klum fails with the takedown. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A decent looking cross lands there for Klum. Emilson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. After a battle for position, Klum asserts his dominance and retains side control. Emilson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Emilson is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emilson tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Klum decides to stand up. Klum throws a head kick but Emilson moves out of range.
Grant Klum is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Emilson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Klum to the mat! Klum manages to get full guard. Emilson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Klum uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Emilson misses with a takedown attempt - Klum sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Klum misses with a wild combination.
Grant Klum is winning the standup battle so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emilson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Klum can pounce on him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Emilson shoots in and gets a takedown into Klum's guard. Emilson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Klum utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Emilson trying to control the position from guard on top but Klum is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Klum is working an open guard so Emilson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Klum shoots in for a double leg but Emilson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Emilson avoids the head kick by Klum.
Emilson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Emilson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emilson has hold of Klum's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Klum tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Emilson cranks the arm and Klum screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Klum, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
