Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christopher McCormick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murray Esson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McCormick might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Shipping up to Boston. The crowd seem to be enjoying Esson's choice of entrance music: Amy MacDonald - This Is The Life. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esson throws a leg kick
and McCormick counters with an inside leg kick.
Esson slips under a jab.
McCormick avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Esson misses with a body kick.
Esson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Esson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Esson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Esson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
McCormick lands with a hook. Esson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
McCormick throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Esson moves out of range as McCormick strikes.
Esson throws a looping overhand right but McCormick ducks down to avoid it.
McCormick throws a shot from downtown. Esson moves away and avoids it.

and McCormick counters with a straight right hand.
McCormick loads up on a big right hand but Esson slips the punch.
Esson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

McCormick avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Esson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Esson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McCormick napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Esson wants to control but McCormick is keeping him busy.

Esson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McCormick, who protects the arm well.
Esson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
McCormick can't do much from the bottom here.

Esson wants to lay and pray for a moment but McCormick keeps working.
The strikes coming from Esson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Esson seems a little lost for a moment, as McCormick dominates the positioning.

Esson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
McCormick is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Esson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

McCormick thuds his right hand into Esson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Esson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McCormick swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Esson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McCormick.

McCormick slips a jab from Esson.
McCormick lands a head kick!
McCormick scores with a jab to the head.

Esson is rocked!
McCormick wobbles Esson with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! McCormick dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Esson to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
