PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Comradi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ball comes to the cage accompanied by Hammer Smashed Face. The crowd seem to be enjoying Comradi's choice of entrance music: I fight to survive. Joe Ball has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Comradi!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Comradi slips a jab and a cross from Ball.
Comradi circles away from the clinch attempt.

Ball looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Comradi is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Ball throwing strikes but missing.
Ball pushes down on Comradi's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ball will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Comradi on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Ball working Comradi over with strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Comradi tries to roll over but Ball keeps him under control.
Ball throwing shots but Comradi is blocking nicely.
Ball thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Comradi trying to control but Ball postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Comradi wants to improve his position but Ball is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ball connects with a nice short shot to Comradi's temple.
Ball takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Ball lands with a punch from half guard.
Ball thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Comradi's head.
Comradi wants to control but Ball is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ball is looking to take a break and control but Comradi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Comradi wants to get back to full guard.
Ball wants to take a breather but Comradi is having none of it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ball is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Comradi is staying active underneath Ball, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ball works his foot free and advances to mount.
Ball lands a nice shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Comradi is squirming around, avoiding Ball's attempts to control the action.
Comradi tries to lock up and control but Ball gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ball wants to finish this one by submission but Comradi is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ball.
Comradi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ball. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ball cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!


It looks like Peter Comradi has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Comradi tries to hold on but Ball postures up.
Comradi is bucking up trying to escape but Ball cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


That has opened up Peter Comradi's cut even more.
Ball landing strikes from the mount and Comradi is in trouble!


Peter Comradi's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Peter Comradi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Joe Ball!
