Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ishi Kiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin has chosen Dean Martin - LITTLE OLD WINE DRINKER ME as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Martin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kiki dodges the punch combination from Martin.
Martin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Martin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kiki counters with a stiff right hand.
Ishi Kiki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Martin.
Kiki looks to score with a jab to the body but Martin is just out of range.
Kiki scores with a decent looking hook.
Martin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Martin shoots and misses
and Kiki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Martin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Martin shoots in and gets a takedown into Kiki's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kiki tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kiki keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martin postures up in Kiki's guard and throws a big left but Kiki blocks it.

Martin is looking to stand up but Kiki won't let him.

Martin wanted to stand there but Kiki had control of the position.

Kiki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kiki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Kiki is working an open guard so Martin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Kiki connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Kiki throws out a loose jab but Martin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kiki fails to land with a series of punches.

Kiki looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Martin!
Martin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kiki asserts his dominance and retains side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kiki wants to stand but Martin is controlling his arm.
Martin is being controlled here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martin is trying to control Kiki's posture but Kiki avoids it.

Martin pushes Kiki away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kiki gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Kiki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Martin has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kiki in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Kiki trying to control the position but Martin is working away.
Kiki has knee on belly momentarily but Martin bucks him off and regains half guard.

Kiki wants to work for an arm triangle but Martin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kiki is thwarting Martin's attempts to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Martin lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Martin is staying active underneath Kiki, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ishi Kiki dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Martin closes the distance and clinches up with Kiki, looking for a takedown. Martin pushes Kiki against the cage but Kiki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kiki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A telegraphed right hand from Kiki misses the target.

Martin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kiki to the ground. Martin is now in Kiki's guard.

Kiki has his foot on Martin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Martin works his way back into a safe position though.

Martin gets to his feet. Kiki looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kiki misses with an uppercut. Martin saw that one coming.
Martin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Kiki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kiki wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Ishi Kiki wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Martin shoots in looking for a takedown. Kiki tries to sprawl out of it but Martin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kiki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kiki as he jumps to the side.

Kiki scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Martin does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kiki.
Kiki scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Martin doesn't seem bothered though.
Kiki scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kiki, as that shot connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A slow jab from Kiki misses its intended target.
Kiki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Martin sprawls well. Martin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kiki gets slowly back to his feet.

Martin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Kiki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martin's guard.

Kiki uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Kiki is looking to work some ground and pound but Martin has wrist control.

Martin creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
