Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Andrew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Calvin Powers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Andrew ! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andrew fails with an attempt to clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Powers enables Andrew to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Powers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Andrew sitting in guard here, content to control. Powers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Powers is looking to advance position but Andrew won't allow it. Powers seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Powers missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Andrew wants to control but Powers passes into side.
Powers wants to stand but Andrew has his arm trapped. Powers stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers swinging wildly here.
Powers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Powers misses the shot to the body. Powers misses with a combination
and Andrew counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Andrew 's corner is telling him to maintain position. Powers is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Powers looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Powers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Andrew stopping the sweep attempt from Powers.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Powers is looking to clinch. Powers fails with the takedown and Andrew counters with a flying knee. Nice. This has been an exciting period of action! Andrew shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Powers sprawls well. Powers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Andrew gets slowly back to his feet. Powers shoots in but Andrew avoids the takedown attempt easily. Andrew shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Powers defends it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Powers misses. Powers tries to clinch but Andrew moves out of range. Andrew tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powers swats him away and circles back towards the center. Powers tries to clinch up. Andrew lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Andrew . No luck for Powers with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Calvin Powers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Powers looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Andrew drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Powers keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Andrew pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Powers is keeping the position for now. Andrew trying to control but Powers is working from the bottom. Andrew looks winded! Andrew engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Powers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Powers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Andrew is posturing up here but Powers has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Andrew tries to roll out but it's too tight and Andrew has to tap! Slick submission there by Powers!
