Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rage Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rage Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Scott!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott misses with a takedown
and Edwards counters with a nice body kick.
Scott wants to clinch up but Edwards keeps it at a distance.
Edwards thumps Scott with a low kick.
Scott has his takedown stuffed
and Edwards counters with a good low kick that Scott was not able to check.
Scott doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Edwards counters with a single leg into guard. Scott didn't expect that.
Rage Edwards has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Scott.
Edwards seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Edwards slips nicely into half guard.
Edwards is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Scott won't allow Edwards to pass to mount.
Edwards wants to take a breather but Scott is having none of it.
Edwards is pressing down on Scott's thigh, looking to free his foot. Scott is holding on for now.
Edwards missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Edwards wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scott keeps working.
Edwards is figuring out what he wants to do next.

We're going to have a standup here because Rage Edwards wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Scott shoots in and drives through. Edwards sprawls well.
Scott looks winded!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Scott enables Edwards to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Scott manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Edwards throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Scott works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Edwards's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Scott manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Edwards moves into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Edwards breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Edwards fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Scott to the ground. Edwards is now in Scott's guard.
Edwards wants to get up but he can't break Scott's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Scott looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Edwards content to stall in guard here.
Scott is trying to control the position but Edwards postures up.

Edwards throwing strikes from guard but Scott blocks nicely.
Edwards advances position into side control!
Scott wants to control but Edwards postures up.
Scott is looking to reverse the position.
Scott stops Edwards from passing to mount.
Scott is not content to let Edwards control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scott takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Scott is looking for a sweep.
Scott seems a little lost for a moment, as Edwards dominates the positioning.

Edwards tries for a kimura but Scott is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rage Edwards dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Edwards moves into the clinch.

Edwards breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Edwards tries a head kick but it misses.

Edwards feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Edwards knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Scott on the ground.
Edwards controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Edwards is working Scott over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Scott is looking to stand up but Edwards isn't so interested in that idea.

Scott is breathing heavily.
Edwards pushes down on Scott's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Scott blocking the ground and pound attempt from Edwards.
Edwards controlling the action here.
Scott wants to control the action here but instead Edwards manages to pass to full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scott is in all sorts of trouble here.
Edwards lands a nice shot to the head.
Edwards lands with some strikes.
Edwards lands a big elbow.
Edwards controlling the pace for now.
Scott trying desperately to get to his feet.
The referee warns Scott that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.


Scott is rocked!

Edwards unloading with bombs!
Scott is still in real trouble! Can Edwards finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edwards breaks from Scott's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Edwards postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Scott bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Edwards and the fight is over!
